Take Small Steps and Keep moving Forward

Hello Guys,

Wat's up? I am just glad that I am writing again in my blog after a long break. I vowed to be active blogging after this.. Hope so I will keep my promise. +_+

Actually, I have read a novel recently and would like to share about it with you. The novel is entitled SMALL STEPS and written by Louis Sachar. I am not a novel lover but, this novel had something really interesting and it kept me going till the last page of it. After reading, I knew it is worth of reading it. Basically, its a very simple story but what made it to be very impressive or special was its message.

The story evolved around an African American boy who was studying in high school after returning from Camp Green Lake Juvenile Correctional Facility ( something like Henry Gurney school in Malacca, Malaysia ). Everyone expects the worse from him except his ten-year old disabled neighbour, Ginny who believed he had changed. His counselor would tell him ," Your life would be like walking upstream in a rushing river. The secret was to take small steps and keep moving forward. If you tried to take too big a step, the current would knock you off and carry you back downstream". After that, he set five goals or himself. The five small steps. He was on the right path until X-Ray, a buddy from Camp Green Lake, comes up with a get-rich quick scheme. X-Ray's money making plan led him to a chance encounter with teen pop sensation Kaira DeLeon. Suddenly his life spins out of control when he tried to take a too big step to resolve the problems around him. Finally he will back to lead his normal life after a tragedy with Kaira.

The writer through him had taught me that life is like crossing a river. If we try to take too big a step, the current will knock us off our feet and carry us away. So, take small steps and keep moving forward. Always remember to see where you are standing in the journey of life before you set your dreams and make the dreams to come true by taking small steps towards the achievement of your goals. If you got a chance, read this book. Well, it is a very energizing story that had uplifted my spirits. I have started my small steps and hope you would to.

Please remember to share with me anything like this - something you learned via your reading habits.

Thanks for reading and keep looking forward.

that book of yours sound really nice my dear friend... looking forward to lay my hands on it soon... :P... anyway, i thought of just sharing my views on taking baby steps in going through life...in this case, i really agree with your say dear.... its true that we have to move on little by little and accomplish from smaller goals and head to bigger ones so that we could instill ourself with self motivation, perseverance, confidence and a thirst for accomplishment on the way to our destination. its not a sin to aim for bigger and better goals and targets in life, only if we are very sure of ourself and are a t the peak of determination in ourself.... because if we are not as determined or would easily fumble over at even a small tumble in our life, then it would be better to aim at nearer goals and take baby steps at a time... the world out there are not with angels and god-sent fairy godmothers... the world out there is going towards materiality and the competition to prove each of themselves as the so-called 'best' is mounting everywhere... thus, it is very prudent to have a very high self-esteem and self-confidence and most of all, the determination to keep going... otherwise, you would find yourself falling down... thats not bad at all... but then the worst yet to come is that you might never find yourself able to muster the courage to get up again after watching the tiniest of your dreams shattered into a thousand pieces... so in a nutshell... baby steps are really the most efficient way to keep going through the monstrosity of the world is getting at nowadays.... but yet... for the teensy little hopeful ones with a great open minds... when the going gets tough, only the tough gets going... its your burning desire for victory and careful strategies that will keep you uphill....

that's all for today.... take care dear VINO....
